Watch the 2016 Malibu Evolution Pro Series on NBC Sports January 18th

LAKE ALFRED, Fla. (January 9, 2017) – The World Wake Association (WWA) has announced the 2016 Malibu Evolution Pro Series presented by Rockstar Energy will re-air on NBC Sports Wednesday, January 18 at 3:00 pm ET. The show will feature intense action as it highlights the most memorable moments from 2016 competition, which consisted of three world-class events that took place in Nevada, South Korea and the Dominican Republic. Each round of the Malibu Evolution Pro Series is held in conjunction with the WWA Wakeboard World Series, the world’s only premier wakeboarding series.

The Malibu Evolution Pro Series is designed to showcase the highest level of performance, unifying the men and women of the professional wakeboarding circuit at some of the world’s most elite facilities in the U.S. and internationally. For 2016, all competitors were towed exclusively behind the all-new revolutionary M235 towboat at the Malibu Sparks Pro, Malibu Seoul Pro and Malibu Punta Cana Pro. In the Pro Men’s division, Tony Iaconni (AUS) used spectacular riding to emerge as the overall series champion, followed by Team Malibu rider Massi Piffaretti (ITA) and Mike Dowdy (USA).

NBC Sports will also include action from the Pro Women’s division, which witnessed Nicola Butler (USA) consistently place herself at the front of the field during each stop of the series en route to becoming the top placing overall rider. A hard-fought effort from Team Malibu rider Tarah Mikacich (USA) put her second on the year, just ahead of fellow Malibu teammate Amber Wing (AUS) in third.

Make sure you tune in or set your DVR in order to capture all of the action from the Malibu Evolution Pro Series presented by Rockstar Energy. The show will re-air on Wednesday, January 18 at 3:00 pm ET
