Skiers Pier, Wake Sessions, the WWA and Malibu hosted riders of all ages on July 19-21 for the Rider Experience — East on Pontiac Lake, Michigan. Quake on the Lake, one of the largest hydroplane races in the country, and the WWA Wakeboard Eastern-Regional Championship shared the waters. Riders and racers got to show over 400 spectators what they could do on the water.
Amateur riders of all ages and abilities got in the WAKESETTER 22 MXZ with pro team riders Oli Derome and Tarah Mikacich and improved their riding with Wake Sessions owner/coach/rider, Chris Laske behind the wheel.
On Saturday, the crowd was treated to hydroplane boat racing for Quake on the Lake. Several different classes hopped in their boats and rooster-tailed out at speeds up to 160mph. But the show didn’t stop there, next up was the Eastern-Regional Wakeboarding Championships.
Combined with the Judges Experience clinic and Wakesurf Experience behind SURF GATE, Riders aged 6 through 50 years old improved their riding and left with invaluable lessons on all aspects of wakeboarding.
