Pros Deliver on Day 2 of 2017 Nautique WWA Wake Park National Championships Presented by Rockstar

Waco, TX (July 29, 2017) – Just when you think it can’t get any better, the riders turn it up another level at the 2017 Nautique WWA Wake Park National Championships presented by Rockstar Energy. Building off of the energy from day 1, the cable started spinning at sunrise with riders getting ready for action on day 2. Glassy conditions and temperatures staying over 100ºF all day made BSR Cable Park the perfect place to be.

The Pro division kicked off the day with Traditional Wake Park qualifying rounds seeing eight riders advance through to the quarterfinals. In heat one of the quarterfinals, Busty Dunn landed in the top spot with a 100.00 score followed by Joel Battleday in second with 80.5. Heat two winner Tyler Sommer scored 91.5 with Kaden Voges hot on his heels scoring 90.5. James Windsor crushed it in heat three taking the win with 94.00 points ahead of Kelbey Huebner taking second with 86.00.  Tom “King of the Cable” Fooshee dominated, scoring 100.00 for the heat four win with Bene Tremmel in second, punching his ticket to the semifinals with 90.00.

The Intermediate semifinals stepped it up with Jake Flynn winning heat one scoring 86.00 ahead of Pierce Bishop with 82.5 in second. Heat two went to Coby Armer scoring 84.5 just a half point ahead of Hayden Chambless with 84.00. Will Trauschke won heat four with a 92.5 point score followed by Justin Lublow in second with 85.00.

In the Novice semifinal, heat one winner Daniel Laskowski heads to the final scoring 92.00 for the heat win along with Colton Brasiel placing second with 80.00. Kaiden Powell took the win in heat two with a score of 96.00 and Mattie Armer scored 85.00 in second. Joining them in the final from heat three, Taylor Oxford took the top spot with 91.00 ahead of Outler Morgan taking second scoring 84.00.

In the Pro Men Features Only qualifying rounds, the top five riders advanced through to the quarterfinals. James Windsor scored 94.00 to take the win in heat one and Busty Dunn maintained couldn’t be stopped all day long, winning heat two with 97.15. Heat three went to defending World Champion Guenther Oka who scored a 100.00 making a statement heading into today’s quarterfinal rounds.

The Features Only Amateur division showed just how fast the sport is progressing. In the Boy’s Division, Parker Swoope landed a perfect nose grab Pete Rose causing the shoreline to explode as he cruised through to the semifinal. The only female rider in the Veteran’s division, Shannon Stucky slayed the rails, styling out a boardslide-gap-backlip to earn her way to the final placing second in heat one behind the legendary Dale Cartwright. Open Men’s rider Bruno Ulott had jaws on the floor during his run with some amazing rail riding that blended finesse with a relentless attack on each feature to win his heat. Groms division shredder Gavin Doody won both his Traditional and Features Only heats today showing unmatched versatility with clean riding all day long.
