Philippines Welcomes 2016 WWA Wake Park World Championships at Camsur Watersports Complex

LAKE ALFRED, Fla. (October 13, 2016) – The World Wake Association (WWA) has announced that the 2016 WWA Wake Park World Championships will make its highly anticipated return to Camsur Watersports Complex (CWC) in Camarines Sur, Philippines on October 29-31. Following a five-year hiatus, the highly respected venue will hold the most prestigious wakepark event in the world while celebrating its 10-year anniversary and the first of its three-year agreement to host the WWA Wake Park World Championships. CWC is the first world-class watersports complex in the Philippines and Asia, ultimately focusing on taking wakepark riding to an all-new level with its six-point cable system and top of the line facility.

“The 2016 Wake Park World Championship is shaping up to be an incredible event with the return to the Philippines and is certainly going to be a favorite among riders at one of the worlds most iconic facilities with Camsur Watersports Complex,” said WWA President Shannon Starling. “Wakepark has witnessed a huge increase in growth during the past several years for both, participants and spectators, ultimately pushing us to select top-notch venues that will provide plenty of entertainment and allow for the worlds best riders to take their riding to the next level.”

For 2016, the event will also feature a unique overall competition, which includes riders representing both, a country and their home park, accumulating points to determine a winner in each category. In addition to the WWA Wake Park World Championships, the event will serve as the third and final round of the 2016 Wake Park World Series, which included stops in Orlando, Florida and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. A Halloween party will be held on October 31 and all riders, family and friends in attendance are encouraged to attend the festivities.

Athletes will not be able to register on the day of the event, so please take notice of the deadlines listed.
