Monster Energy WWA Wake Park Triple Crown – Cablestock Wrap-up

From New Braunfels, Texas (May 8, 2012) — Stop 1 of the Monster Energy WWA Wake Park Triple Crown and the WWA Wake Park World Series is in the record books. Texas Ski Ranch (TSR) played host to the 10th annual Cablestock, a three day down right fun wakeboard and music festival… Texas Style. And if you’ve ever been to Texas before, you know just how big things are.

Riders from all over the globe traveled to TSR for the 10th anniversary of Cablestock to ride against the toughest competition around. Monster Energy supplied the beverages and the riders brought the high flying and rail pressing action.

“This was the largest Cablestock that we’ve ever seen” Monster Energy, Liquid Force, and TSR rider, Tom Fooshee says, “it was a lot of pressure to come out here in front of my home town and win; I’m amped that the season is here. Winning the first contest of the season is always a boost for the rest of the year.”

Features only champion and Liquid Force team rider, Raphael Derome, has been working hard during the off season this winter to make sure his name is in the running for Alliance Magazine’s Rider of the Year. The TSR kickers proved to be some of the best kickers around when Liquid Force’ Shane Bonifay, Nico Von Lerchenfeld, Raphael Derome, and Slingshot’s Oli Derome all stuck double flips during the contest naming these riders the first to land double flips in a contest.

“I really want to push the sport to new levels. There were several double flips that were landed today, that’s something that we never thought we would see” said Raphael Derome “and I believe that this is just the start.”
