Gold Medals awarded on Australia’s Gold Coast for the 2024 Nautique WWA Wakeboard World Championships

Gold Coast, Australia (September 30, 2024) – The Gold Coast Marine Stadium was a buzz with excitement as the 2024 Nautique WWA Wakeboard World Championships, presented by GM Marine, concluded on a high note. Spectators lined the shore to witness some of the most breathtaking performances in wakeboarding history as athletes battled it out for a coveted WWA World title.

Flegel’s Foil Dominance

Noah Flegel continued his reign in professional foil, securing the top spot in both divisions, further cementing his status as a force to be reckoned with in the sport.

Jr. Pro Women’s Podium

Italy’s Giulia Castelli showcased remarkable skill, combining spins and technical tricks to claim the Jr. Pro Women’s title. Ashley Kazmer (USA) and Charlotte Matlejan (Australia) followed, securing second and third place, respectively

Italian Jr. Pro Men’s Victory

Federico dal Lago’s impressive and well-rounded performance earned him the Jr. Pro Men’s title, with fellow Italian Mattia del Fiandra and Noah Bollard of Australiataking second and third.

Women’s Pro: Ethell’s 8th World Title

The women’s professional category saw fierce competition. Meagan Ethell (USA) demonstrated unwavering strength throughout the weekend, clinching her 8th WWA World title. Eugenia de Armas (Argentina) celebrated her first World Championships podium finish, followed by Chloe Mills (Australia) in third place.

Men’s Pro: Rapa’s Double Up Triumph

The Men’s Professional category was a nail-biting spectacle. Cory Teunissen landed impressive tricks but fell short on his double backroll off the double up, earning third place. Thomas Herman wowed the crowd yet again with the first-ever Double KGB off the double up in a traditional contest pass. Ultimately, Nic Rapa, the top seed, sealed the deal with a phenomenal run including a double tantrum, back-to-back 900s, and a double half cab roll off the double up, securing his World title.

2024 WWA Wakeboard World Series  & Nautique Wake Series Champions

The event marked the conclusion of the 2024 WWA Wakeboard World Series and Nautique Wake Series races. Nic Rapa claimed the men’s title with a massive 75 point lead, while Zahra Kell claimed the women’s title for the second year in a row.
