Highlights of a day
The excitement is building as the Nautique WWA Wake Park World Championships, presented by GM Marine, announces Gold Coast Wake Park as the official host for the highly anticipated 2024 event. Set against the epic backdrop of Gold Coast Wake Park, riders from all corners of the wake park community will converge for a thrilling showcase of skill, style, and sportsmanship on September 21-24th.
DEADLINE to sign up is Wednesday, September 18th. Please await finalized riding orders and schedule, to be posted Thursday September 19th.
Amateur Features Divisions:
- 7 minute jam session
- Up to 6 competitors on the cable in each jam session
- NO outside assistance getting back to the dock, however if a rider removes their board from the lake, they are allowed to change boards in the middle of heat
- Tricks after the clock are not allowed, riders must be on the features to count trick
- Judges score riders and rank from first to last, no ties in a section so if riders do the same trick, judges must delineate using our DRIVE format (listed below)
- Only your single best trick on each section will be scored
- If you fall, safely make your way back to the dock and restart. (Time is still running!)
- Section 1: 19%
- Section 2: 21%
- Section 3: 16%
- Section 4: 24%
- Section 5/Kickers: 20%
- We score on Execution and Difficulty
- Judges want to see good execution on all tricks (clean/well grabbed/not zeached/not prespun)
* Tie Breaker will go to the rider that placed higher in 3 out of the 5 sections
* Times, sections and percentages are subject to change, please prepare accordingly.
Elite/Open Features Divisions:
- Amatuer Feature Format until Finals
- Finals is a 45 min timed Run based Jam format (as many attempts at a run as time allows)
- The run starts at Tower 3 and ends at Tower 1
- No Air tricks allowed
- There will be no pickups
- If you drag, tumble up (your hips are behind you) your run WILL NOT BE SCORED and you risk being disqualified from the entire event
- Hot dog handles are caused by the rider, if you fall your run is over, if you do not fall, you have one lap to reset handle and continue your run after the hot dog handle occurred
- Final score will be out of 100
- Best run counts
- We score on the EDC format: execution, difficulty, composition
- Overall Impression. You will receive a single score from each judge out of 100.
Park Divisions:
- 2 runs per rider
- The run starts at the kickers and finishes after a second kicker hit
- Air trick only allowed between Between Transfer/pipe and step down rails.
- There will be no pickups
- If you drag, tumble up (your hips are behind you) your run WILL NOT BE SCORED and you risk being disqualified from the entire event

Accomodation
Event shuttles being free for competitors to/from the Crowne Plaza and Hilton in Surfers Paradise to the Wake Park. They will make a continuous loop throughout the day. Here is the current schedule:
