Lake Alfred, FL (September 19, 2021) – The spectators at Callaway Gardens witnessed the greatest surfers in the world rise to victory on the third day of the 2021 Nautique Masters Wakesurf Championships presented by YANMAR. Pulled by the Nautique G23 Paragon the Nautique Masters Wakesurf Championships has become one of the most esteemed stops on the Nautique Wakesurf Series with the weekend’s pristine levels of athletic ability ensuring that reputation lives on. The weekend displayed the family-friendly atmosphere Nautique events are known for showcasing the opportunity for riders and fans alike to check out the all-new JL Audio wrapped Nautique G23 Paragon built with Yanmar’s diesel engine. Yanmar’s proven diesel power is now available exclusively in specific Nautique G-Series models providing a more fuel-efficient option for those looking to keep their RPM’s low when fully loaded.
Before the Pro surfers entered their final rounds, the amateur divisions engaged in some exciting semifinal heats. Making sure their power was known this weekend, the Jr. Men’s division saw Joey Harris advance to the finals by throwing incredible skim-style maneuvers on his surf style board for a final score of 95.33. Also advancing into the finals was Tyler Urrutia who rode away from an impressive backside bigspin to score 83.67, just ahead of Robert McClelland who also be joining the final round on Sunday. Girl’s 10-13 rider Sofia Caywood put down an impressive run behind the Nautique G23 Paragon for 91.33 points, and Boy’s rider Jett Lambert took the win in his semifinal heat with a huge 360 shuv-it for a score of 95.67, followed by Lee Hite with a score of 89.00 and Luke Johnson with an 85.00.
Coming off the dock first in the final round of competition Nautique Team rider, Jodi Grassman put together an unstoppable performance in Pro Women’s final taking the win with a score of 85.67. Her first pass consisted of multiple bigspin and shuv-it variations before coming back on pass two with a clean alley-oop 360 leaving no doubt in anyone’s mind that she had just cleaned up with first place finish today. In close second Bailey Dunn scored 82.67 points with a stylish 360 shuv-it, followed by Ashley Kidd rounding out the podium in third with 80.00 points.
Utilizing the perfect wave of the Nautique G23 Paragon, Team Nautique athlete Noah Flegel put it all together clinching the greatest victory of the year and a final score of 95.67 in the Pro Men’s final. Noah’s winning run consisted of both surf style and skim style riding, as he switched his board after his first pass. Coming up in second, Sean Silveria landed a solid 540 shuv-it and 360 body varial to score 91.00, ahead of Nautique sponsored rider John Akerman in third with a score of 87.67.
In addition to today’s event winners, the overall champions for the Nautique Wakesurf Series were crowned today as the Nautique Masters Wake Surf Championship marks the final event of the year. Taking the overall wins were Team Nautique teammates Noah Flegel and Jodi Grassman. Both riders were rewarded with a trip to the WSL Surf Ranch in Leemore, California to spend a full day in the surf basin and surfing behind Surf Ranch Edition Super Air Nautique G23.
