Canada Welcomes Malibu WWA Rider Experience and Pro Card Qualifier at Wow Lake

LAKE ALFRED, Fla. (June 12, 2016) – The final Malibu WWA Rider Experience of the 2016 season, hosted by Aqua Sport Marine, is heading to Canada and is set to take place in Quebec on August 12-14 at Wow Lake. For the second consecutive year, Canada’s up-and-coming stars will showcase their awesome talent against other riders in their region, while riding one of countries most beautiful bodies of water. The three-day event will serve as the industry leader in hosting elite athletes in amateur competition, as well as an educational opportunity for riders competing at any level to learn from the best in the sport.

The Rider Experience is a family oriented event that provides plenty of excitement throughout the weekend for all ages and abilities, such as Freeride Friday, Judge’s Experience, and the chance to surf behind Malibu’s Wakesetter on Surf Gate Sunday. In 2015, Canada held their first Rider Experience event in St. Zotique, Quebec, which witnessed Japanese rider Toshiki Yasui steal the glory in the Pro Card category, just ahead of Canada’s very own Chris Sinkic and Ryan Galea in second and third, respectively.

For 2016, Malibu WWA Rider Experience Canada will host the sixth and final Malibu WWA Pro Card Qualifier, which qualifies riders for the WWA World Rankings and the right to compete at all WWA professional contests for the 2016 season. Malibu will have a handful of professional athletes in attendance, including Chad Sharpe, Oli Derome, Raph Derome, Jeff Langley, and Brian Grubb.
