Amateur Finals Hit the Water On Day Three of Nautique WWA Wake Park National Championships Presented by GM Marine

Auburndale, FL (August 3, 2021) – The rain couldn’t deter the rider or the spectators at Elite Cable Park as wake’s top amateur riders made their final appearances at the 2021 Nautique WWA Wake Park National Championships presented by GM Marine. Although the weather was sub-par, the action on the water was all-time with some of the sport’s most impressive cable riders throwing down during the thrilling final rounds of traditional cable..

The first final of the day belonged to the Intermediate division where 14 year old Michael Kim took the win against several other young teenage riders.  Michael posted a score of 90.08 with a mixture of air-tricks, impressive kicker tricks, technical rail hits and an overall composition that left all of the judges in agreement that he had won the National Championship for the Intermediate division. . Accomplishing a personal best performance for the Beginner division was 9 year old Jackson Carlino as he put together multiple 180s with grabs to clinch his very first National title.  For the Open Women’s division it was 13 year old Campbell Scarborough, by far the youngest rider in the division, that would take the win among the other riders more than twice her age.  With a tail grab back roll off the kicker and the most difficult rail tricks of any other amateur woman, Campbell bested the other riders with a perfect score of 100.00.

The day’s less than perfect conditions were ameliorated by the Pro Men and Pro Women taking to the water to end the day.  Working through their semifinal heats in the Pro Features discipline,  Rivers Hedrick from Carterville, GA and Annie Best from Austin, TX advanced from the first heat of Pro Women while Julia Rick from Germany and Anna Nikstad from Houston, TX advanced from the second heat.  For the Pro Men’s division, a full Florida final is shaping up with Trent and Gavin Stuckey, Luke Holmes, and Fynn Bullock head to the Features Only finale happening tomorrow afternoon.
