FLEGEL & KIDD CLAIM NATIONAL TITLES AT THE NAUTIQUE USA NATIONAL WAKESURF CHAMPIONSHIPS PRESENTED BY GM MARINE

Winter Haven, FL (July 31, 2021) – The fourth and final day of the 2021 Nautique USA National Wakesurf Championships presented by GM Marine concluded with extraordinary action behind the G23 Paragon with Pro Men and Pro Women showcasing the top talents of the sport to an expectant crowd of spectators at Lake Silver.  Noah Flegel and Ashley Kidd both locked up their 2021 National titles and secured additional points on the rankings list of the 2021 Nautique Wakesurf Series presented by Billabong before heading into the final event of the series at the Nautique Masters Wakesurf Championships happening at historic Robin Lake in Callaway Gardens in Georgia next month.

The Pro Women were relentless in the final round with show-stopping performances happening from all four of the finalists.  Surf style rider Ashley Kidd from Austin, Texas coming out on top with an insane performance behind the award-winning G23 Paragon earning her National title and heat winning score of 83.33.  Laying down a killer combination of shuv-its and body varials in her first pass and a backside bigspin in her second pass leaving no doubt in with the judges that she had just won her 7th National title. Nautique Team rider Jodi Grassman joined the podium in second place, throwing a a combination of shuv-its and body varials for a score of 78.33, followed by Camille Goodwin in third with a score of 71.

“It feels great to claim another WWA National title this weekend here in Winter Haven” said Ashley Kidd, “all of the girls brought their best which make taking the win today even more sweet.”

Taking the top spot for the Pro Men’s division was Nautique Team rider Noah Flegel executing a near flawless run and taking the National title.  Amassing 87.33 points, Noah was able to take the win by landing multiple bigspin variations while riding a skim style in his first pass, followed by a huge 360 shuv-it on his surf style board in pass two. In second, Sean Silveira had one of his best runs which included a 540 bigger spin and a 540 shuv-it scoring 84.00, just ahead of 16 year old Beaux Wildman in third who received  a final score of 79.00.

“After being out for an injury, it feels great to be back out on the water and on the top of the podium” said Nautique athlete Noah Flegel. “I’m looking forward to the Nautique Masters Wakesurf Championships coming up next month to do it all again”
