AMATEUR NATIONAL CHAMPIONS AWARDED AT NAUTIQUE WWA WAKEBOARD NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS PRESENTED BY GM MARINE

Winter Haven, FL (July 30, 2021) – The shoreline swarmed with families and friends at Lake Silver as wake’s top amateur riders made their final appearances at the 2021 Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships presented by GM Marine. The heat turned up behind the Super Air Nautique G23 with some of the sport’s most impressive amateurs throwing down during the thrilling final rounds.

Starting the day with the youngest athletes, the Jr. Girls and Jr. Boy’s Beginner divisions showcased their skills to the judges and spectators. Throwing down a personal best performance was ten year old Stella Dickerson (GA) in the Jr. Girls divisions as she landed wake-to-wake jumps from both her heelside and toeside, as well as several 180 vairations to take the win and the 2021 National title for her division. Equally as impressive, was nine year old Max Kofke of North Carolina in the Jr. Boy’s Beginner division who was able to execute switch and regular heelside 180s with stylish grabs to earn a 74.67 and win his National Title.

“The National Championships are always such a special thing to watch as we have amateur riders of all skill levels from across the nation come together and compete.” said WWA Executive Director Corrie Wilson.

The afternoon’s perfect conditions at Lake Silver were flawless as the action transitioned from the youngest competitors to the oldest competitors as the Veteran Women and the Veteran Men took center stage.   48 year old Joy Manning delivered an epic performance behind the wake of the Super Air Nautique G23 powered by GM’s world-class powertrains, and proved that once again she was the strongest rider among the Veteran Women as she claimed her 9th National Championship title.  Emilio Martinez from Mexico proved he came to Florida to win, throwing impressive tricks like his heelside roll to revert and a 540 to score a 71.67 and earn himself a National Title in the Veteran Men’s division.
