SECOND ANNUAL NW WAKESURF COMPETITION JULY 30 – AUGUST 1, 2010
Featuring a Wakesurf Clinic by World-Class Wakesurfer Dominic Lagacé
SEATTLE, Washington – June 17, 2010. NW WakeSurf Association (NWWSA) is proud to announce its Second Annual NW WakeSurf Competition, to be held July 30, through August 1, 2010, at the Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah, Washington.
The event kicks off on Friday with practice runs for registered competitors behind 2010 Centurion Enzo SV240 boats, the official competition boats provided by platinum sponsor Northwest Watersports. The competition will be held all day Saturday and a half day on Sunday, and will conclude with an awards ceremony on Sunday afternoon. There will be a number of social events, including a barbeque for competitors and registered guests at the beautiful home of Inland Surfer founder Jeff and Deb Page. Mac Page will again serve as the Head Judge.
“We’re so excited for our second annual competition!” said NWWSA President Grace Han Stanton. “Last year we had over 55 riders, 400 in-person spectators and over 1,000 online spectators watching on Wake9.com. This year, we are increasing our competitor slots by adding an additional half day of competition and are looking forward to seeing all of the talented riders, including James Walker, Dominic Lagace, Caroline Villeneuve, Keenan Flegals, and others.”
Competitor openings are limited at this point and all interested riders are strongly encouraged to register as soon as possible. Competition information and online registration are located at www.nwwsa.org. Prizes will be awarded in each division and for the Best Trick in Open. Each registered competitor will also receive entry to the barbeque and a high-quality black Bakoda daypack from Northwave.
“We’ve seen the sport grow tremendously over the last decade. It’s nice to have organizations like NWWSA and the riders, individuals, volunteers, and organizations contribute to the growth of the sport,” said Jeff Page, founder of Inland Surfer.
